Call For Papers

The goal of this conference is to bring together top coordinated and multiple view visualization practitioners in order to share state-of-the-art concepts and discuss future research opportunities in exploratory visualization.

Information visualization has produced a diverse assortment of highly interactive visual environments. Coordinated and multiple view visualization tools enable users to generate hypotheses and test scenarios by exploring and analyzing multi-dimensional information spaces visually. Multiple views help users conceptualize information from different perspectives simultaneously. Coordination allows users to investigate information through rapid, tightly-coupled interaction within and between multiple views.

We solicit original papers in the area of coordinated and exploratory visualization. In particular, we encourage submission of papers detailing novel architectures, formal models, applications, and in-depth reviews/surveys.

Conference topics include (but are not limited to):

  • Multiple view techniques
  • Coordination/tight coupling/linking techniques
  • Multiform views and other multiple representations of information
  • Visual query languages for exploratory visualization
  • Data transformation and re-expression for exploratory visualization
  • Dynamic and rapid interactive visualization techniques
  • Exploratory visualization methods/algorithms/tools
  • Spreadsheet based visualization techniques
  • Multiple views for interactive steering
  • Visual management of multiple data sources
  • Visual management of highly-coordinated, many-view visualizations
  • Evaluations and case studies
  • Applications
    • Bioinformatics
    • Geovisualization
    • Mathematical/statistical exploration
    • Medical visualization
    • Web site data and browsing strategies
    • Scientific data collection and analysis (astronomy, chemistry, physics, etc.)

Submission Instructions

Please prepare your submission (maximum 12 pages) according to the conference guidelines found at http://www.cvev.org/cmv2006/index.php?p=submissions.

Potential Authors are invited to submit a PDF of their submission through the online submission system, details of which may be found at http://www.cvev.org/cmv2006/index.php?p=submissions

Accepted papers will appear in the proceedings, which will be published by the IEEE Computer Society.
